British historian David Irving scripted a two-hour video special based on his famous book Hitler's War. Researching, writing, and revising this book, he spent many years privately interviewing members of Hitler’s staff and his generals. When it appeared in 1977, it was an instant best-seller. This film version was broadcast many times on PBS in North America and in countries around the world, including Israel.

The book provides a view of the war from behind Hitler's desk. Much that was inexplicable becomes clear when seen from the vantage point of the man at whose finger tips were all the Intelligence reports, the wiretaps, and the codebreaking, and who commanded what was at the time the mightiest army on earth. But then things began to go wrong...
